Accessibility Statement

Flora B's Bakery wants this website to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, or other assistive technology. This page explains what's been done so far, what standard we're aiming for, and how to reach us if something isn't working for you.

We aim for this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA — the standard most widely used and referenced for web accessibility in the United States. This is a goal we're actively working toward, not a certification that's been formally audited.

This site's design includes several accessibility-conscious choices:

• Clear heading structure on every page, so screen readers and other assistive tools can navigate the content in a logical order

• Visible keyboard focus indicators on links and buttons, for anyone navigating without a mouse

• Reduced-motion support, so any animation on the site respects a visitor's system setting if they've asked for less motion

• Descriptive alt text planning for images, so meaningful photos are described for people who can't see them

• Text and background color combinations were reviewed against WCAG contrast requirements, and identified contrast issues were corrected during development.

In the interest of accuracy, here's what this statement does not yet cover:

• A full screen reader test (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver) across every page

• Complete keyboard-only navigation testing across the live, published site

• A formal third-party accessibility audit

We're continuing to test this site and close these gaps as it grows.

Accessibility isn't a one-time task. We plan to recheck this site whenever new pages or major changes are published, and to update this statement as that work progresses.
